This is the Andoer AN7000 review, a new action cam that can record real 4K @ 30 fps (3840×2160 16:9) or 25fps (3840×2160 16:9 Super View) videos, and that also supports FullHD 1080P@120FPS resolution, ideal for action videos and slowmotions. It features 16MP Sony IMX117 image sensor and Ambarella A12S75 chipset. It has a 166° lens with 8 glasses and a 2″ rear screen. It has wifi and comes with a waterproof case up to 60m and many accessories.
This cam is very similar to Andoer C5 Pro, it has the same hardware and specifics, so basically it differs for the form factor and for the Field of View, 166° for AN7000 and 170° for C5 Pro.
Ambarella A12 chipset is the same that equips good action cams like Thieye T5e, SJ7 Star and Eken H8 Pro/Plus. It is an excellent processor, that can handle 4K@30 fps videos without lags, slowdowns or frame loss.
Sony IMX117 image sensor is the same of Gopro 4 black, SJ7, Thieye T5e and Eken H8 Plus. It can shoot high quality 16MP images, sharp and with natural and crisp colors, as we will see further in the Andoer AN7000 review.
As it happens for its sister Andoer C5 Pro, AN7000 video and photographic quality are very good, as we could expect even before testing the cam, as it has the same sensor and processor of Andoer C5 Pro, Thieye T5E and Eken H8 that we reviewed some weeks ago positively, but what is exciting about this cam is the stabilization that works really well – just as Andoer C5 -, probably the best stabilization of all action cams equipped with Ambarella chipset. Stabilization is almost at the same level of Git2 that, as you probably already know, has the best electronic stabilizer together with Sony action cams, but Andoer video quality is much better than Git2. We’ll talk about all these things later on in the Andoer NT7000 review.
And don’t forget the price, it is very competitive, just 107.43€ using the coupon code below, practically the same price of Thieye T5E and Andoer C5 Pro, much lower than SJ6 legend, and almost half the price of Yi 4k and SJ7 Star.
Coupon code: 12AN7000 – 10% OFF final price is 107.43€
Andoer has just released a new cam, AN8000, it has exaclty the same hardware, but a different shape, and it comes with a Remote Control, and supports external microphone! We didn’t test it, but probably it has the same video quality (chipset and sensor are the same). So maybe you prefer to get AN8000 instead, it costs just 15$ more.

Andoer AN7000 review
Andoer AN7000 arrived in a package with many accessories, the Waterproof Case, an extra Case Backdoor, USB Cable, Bicycle Stand, J-shaped Mount Base, Helmet Base, Switch Support, Clip, Bracket, Bandage, Ribbon, Wire Rope, Adhesive Tape, Cleaning Cloth and the User Manual (in English, Chinese & Spanish). It has everything you need to start recording, but a micro sd card.
photo package open
As I said before, Andoer AN7000 comes with a waterproof case up to 60m. Buttons are big and soft to push. There’s no safety lever but the mechanism that hold the cover is strong enough. The battery has a capacity of 1050mAh and allows the cam to record 1h20m at maximum resolution. You can get spare batteries here for just 9€.
In the front side we can find the lens and the ON/Mode button, that can be used to turn the camera on/off and also to switch between modes: video, photo, video playback, photo playback and menu. There are also 3 leds, photo, video and wifi indicators.
On the back a 2″ screen with all essential informations on the recording: mode, resolution, fps, battery status, stabilizer, image quality, time/date, wifi status. It is not touchscreen, as Andoer preferred to keep the price low instead of adding a nice but not necessary funcionality. There are also 2 LED indicators, charging and operating.
In the left side there are the micro sd, microHDMI and micro USB ports. On top there’s just an OKwifi button, used to start/stop recording, shoot a picture, select an option in the menu mode and enable wifi. There are also 3 holes for the speaker.
On the right two buttons just to navigate in the menu.
On the bottom there’s the battery cover, with a cover lock, a 1/4″ thread to mount the cam on a tripod or other accessories, and a Led for aerial photography.
Menu
Menu is pratically identical to Andoer C5 Pro menu.
All the menu voices are shown one below each other, and not organized in subemnus. The most important options – video and photo resolutions, quality – are at the beginning, but there are 10 pages of options! You can find timelapse video (no 4k), loop record, self timer, photo burst, timelapse photo, EIS stabilizer, long exposure up to 60 seconds, motion detect. You can also change some photographic parameter, like ISO, EV exposure, long exposure. Menu is translated in many languages, like english, german, french, italian, spanish.
Andoer AN7000 video quality
Andoer AN7000 records videos with Format H.264 BP/MP/HP and MJPEG codecs.
4K videos have a bitrate of 59Mb/s, in , so it’s a pretty high value, which means low compression and good quality, and 1080p@60fps have a bitrate of 35 Mb/s.
Light is well managed in almost every condition, when in the same scene there are low light and high light zones, exposition is always optimal, with no overxposed or too dark portions. When you pass from a dark zone to a well lighted scene, exposition changes rapidly. Videos are flowing even in 4K, but on shaky shots – like in a bike on a bumpy road – videos are a little “gummy”, so it’s better if you use 2K for shaky videos, or 1080p@60fps with stabilizer on.
Audio is quite good, you can get a conversation from people even if they’re not close. Ambient sound has a nice quality. There’s no possibility to use external microphone. In the end of the second video below (4K version) there’s a sample of video recording of people playing music instruments in the street.
Battery can last up to 1h20m. I used it in the mountains with 0°C and I could record more than 1h at 1080p@60fps with gyro on. In summer you can probably reach easily 1h30m. You can find spare batteries here.
What really surprised me is stabilization. You can activate it with 1080p @ 30/60fps or lower resolutions, and it performs a really good job. I mounted it on the handlebar of my bike, and even on really bumpy roads in the countryside, videos are stable, like recorded from a drone. It reminds me the stabilization of the Git2, but this cam has a better video and photografic quality. You can see what I’m saying in the video below. The cam was attached on the handlebar of my mountainbike without any gimbal.
This is a video recorded at 4k@30fps. At the end of the video there’s also some picture shot at 16MP. Stabilization is not available at 4K, so it’s off. Watch it at 4K resolution.
Andoer AN7000 photos
As you can see pictures shot with Andoer AN7000 are quite good and sharp, very similar to Yi 4k and Thieye T5e (as the sensor and chipset of the T5e are the same). Colors are bright and natural, dark zones are nicely manged, as dark/well lighted transitions. White balance is well set in every conditions, there’s no tendency to red nor to green. Exposure is well measured and balanced. The sky has a dark intense blue, and the grass a natural green, even with a lot of sunlight.
Here are some photos shot with Andoer AN7000, click on the image to enlarge to actual resolution (12MP).

Andoer AN7000 video review
https://youtu.be/WMdJ9Gydlok
Conclusions
Andoer AN7000 is really a nice action cam that you can get for a really cheap price. Video and photographic qualities are really good, similar to the Tieye T5e, SJ7 and Eken H8 Plus, close to Xiaomi Yi 4K. Videos and photos are sharp and vivid, colors are intense and natural. Audio quality is quite good. Stabilizer works pretty well. It is the sister of Andoer C5 Pro, with the same hardware and different form factor, from which it inherits the really good stabilizer.
It is a very economic camera with an excellent quality, but to get a low price this camera lacks of some functions, for instance there’s no possibility to use a remote controller or an external microphone and there’s no touchscreen on the display. This camera is all essence and good quality, and no frills. I suggest you to consider this cam if your budget is around 110$, it has the same price and video quality of thieye T5e but with Andoer AN7000 you get many accessories included, while with Thieye you only get the cam and the waterproof case, but the T5e has the possibility to use a RC command. You can read our article about the best action cam to find what suits your needs and read some comparison.

Great review. Can you tell me which firmware version you have and it is possible to update the firmware? Second I search external charger. The C5 Pro is compatible with scjam batteries. Are the AN7000 also? Thank you
Hi, i need to check at home the firmware version, but there are no updates.
I tried to insert sjcam batteries, forcing them they enter and work, but it took me 3 minutes to take it off because the shape is different, so i suggest not to do it 😀
Thank you. That helps me. Because then I can buy an external charger for Sjcam and put the Andoer battery in. Hope my spare batteries will come the next weeks. I think for 120€ it is a great cam.
I didn’t think about it, but could be an idea (if they fit in some way). The connectors are the same size. Yes it’s a great cam, it surprised me and some friends who bought it
Hi TechFunology, I love your review, I want to ak you if you could try out for us (me, Tabbi, others 😀 ) different batteries in AN7000 so we could know which ones to buy, and what external charger should we get, of course if you have the option to do it. Thank you very much.
Hi, thank you. The shape is different from SJcam batteries, but i forced a bit and it entered, and the cam worked well, but then i needed one minute to take it off. So the only one that really fit are the original.
TechFunology, I have one question about Andoer AN7000, there is no official external charger for AN7000 batteries, could you try out your external chargers from different brands with AN7000 batteries and share with us how it went? Much appreciated, thank you.
Hi, I have SJcam charger, i will test it, it have the same connectors, but the batteries are thinner but longer than SJcam ones, so i think they won’t enter in. I will let you know later
I dont mind doing some small adjustments to charger to fill in the batteries, good to know that the connectors are the same. I thinking about getting this one http://www.gearbest.com/action-cameras-sport-dv-accessories/pp_211123.html , will I work?
I will test it also, if my spare batteries arrived. I think (from another thread) that we have to “prepare” the charger a bit. Means we have to cut the slot a bit to make fit the AN7000 battery.
Oh I read that Andoer has a AN8000 with possibility of using external microphone since 5 days 🙁 But with 155° Lens and reomote controll. Damn C5 Pro 170°, AN7000 160° and AN8000 155°, next cam will be only 90°? Why the change focal lense? Can´t find review yet. Pitty I bought a AN7000 and a C5 Pro last week.
Tabbi how satisfied are you with AN7000? Because I’m thinking about Thieye T5 or AN7000 and leaning towards Andoer. I will be getting second battery and looking for a external charger. Can you give me your 2 cents on Andoer cams you have?Thank you
I just want to mention that this will be my first action camera and I’m a beginner so my expectations are low 😀
Sorry Marek. That is my first action cam too. Totally a noob. I bought it after reviews and the spec of the cam like best hardware for the money. My first shots are sufficient. For the money I think the best you can buy. Downsize are the support for firmware it doesn´t exist I believe, the firmware itself is very rudimentary (not possibility to change profiles like “flat” etc) but does the job.
I don´t know if and where to buy a spare waterproof case because it seems the size isn´t the same as the “gopros or similar”.
The T5 has firmware upgrades ( I found a site where it is described to change it), no equipment and same problem with external charger. In the end more expensive for maybe? better cam with the specs. Had the same choice to make but my wallet decided.
If the AN8000 would have a 170° lens it would be my choice because of the external mic you can plug in. But 155° hm maybe I try.
Im on budget as well, and trying to get most out of it. For long I was convinced about T5 but then I have found AN7000 and now I dealing with this:
AN7000:
+ included equipment (accessories), very good EIS or better then T5
– firmware, non-compatible batteries, no external charger whatsoever
T5:
+ spare battery, firmware updates?, there is a original external charger only
– weak EIS, accessories, non-compatible batteries
I would appreciate your take on this, you too TechFunology 🙂
Between the 2, I prefer AN7000, but it’s just my appeal. It has more accessories, and seems more stable, and with less heat. Now it also received a new firmware updates and everything is faster.
In my opinion EIS is more performing in AN7000.
Hi guys,
I have been in intensive touch with Andoer about their firmware updates, and they message me today about their recent firmware update for AN 7000. Please check it out, and let us know it does, my AN 7000 is it’s way to me 🙂 so I’m curious 😀 . Here is the link http://www.andoer.com/support/
Thank you! This is good news! I tested it and the wifi is faster and more stable. Also the menù is faster. There’s a new voice: Long exposure, for photos.
Cool. My Cam has the SO_91-161103-V1.0 so it is older? easy to update the Firmware? I have some pics where you can see the difference between the AN7000 an C5 pro batteries and case.
https://www.flickr.com/gp/136831569@N08/i20479 and https://www.flickr.com/gp/136831569@N08/N75496
the Problem is that the C5 Pro battery is 0.5mm thicker, the width wouln´t be a Problem.
So Marek, you are in touch with Andoer, nice, they never respond to me. Firmware update for the C5pro and also spare waterproof case would be nice. Can you ask them? The AN could use maybe some older gopro cases but the C5 has the on/off button top and all spare cases have it down.
Here is the link to firmware update https://uloz.to/!wnbCRYmNlMnH/pov717-hd91-normal-amba-so91-170321-v1-0-20170321-1646-7z , let me know how it went and if it’s working Tabbi. I wrote to Andoer to fix their link, but no success so far, I can write them about accessories too.
I tested the firmware downloaded from Andoer (it was working before) as is working well, now the wifi is much more stble, and the menu faster.
Thank you. I downloaded it. Some stupid questions: 1. how to back up my original firmware? 2. how to install the new one? Sorry for my questions never done such things.
I have no idea tbh, TechFunology could help us here.
There’s no way to make a backup.
Fully charge the cam, unzip the file you download, put the file firmware.bin (or the other file, I can’t remember, but it should be the same) in a micro sd (better if blank), put it into the cam, turn on the cam. It should start updating. When everything is done (2-3 minutes) it will restart, remove the sd and delete the file.
Sorry. I tried downloading the Firmware. But the link is dead? Can you send it to me?
I should have it in my PC at work, when get to work on Monday I will upload it somewhere and post you a link to it.
Hello.
What is birate 2.5K60fps?
30Mbsec?
Explain that an8000 takes an hour to fully charge. How long does an7000 take to fully charge?
I never measured, but I think around 1,5h
It is described as compatible up to 64 gb
Can I record on a 128GB or 256GB memory card?
Can the AN7000 record? While using power bank or charger
Yes, it can.
Hi I bought the AN7000 and now checking what remote to buy. the new which comes with the an8000 is not sold separately ?? Which one would you recommend ?
Thanks
Hi, you can use the YI or YI 4K remote (then need to pair it with the cam), but you can use it only when the display is on (you can keep it always on, but drains the battery faster)
Hello, I read your review, and I’m very interested in this camera, I’m between Firefly 8S, Thieye T5e and this, in the others, I can change the angle and reduction the fish eye, does this camera these possibilities? Can I see some pictures or videos with this option?
Thank you so much!
Regards!.
Hi, Andoer doesn’t have this option. I suggest the firefly 8s instead
I bought this camera and it was OK to start with apart from the fact that ANDOER won’t engage with their customers as their is an issue with BLUETOOTH. The issue is that it is an option in the menu on the camera, but doesn’t actually support it. I tried to contact ANDOER many times via email and FACEBOOK and other forms of social media. They answered once with sarcasm only. The battery life is nothing like quoted in the review above, maybe 40 mins max, and I bought a spare one as a back up. Quality of footage and image was OK but was “too fish eyed” in most situations. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY! My ANDOER became unusable after 10 months as either battery lasted only about 10 minutes max. I have now bought a GOPRO and see why they are market leaders.
