Meizu EP52 earphones are a very interesting solution for those who want comfort and quality at the right price.
Meizu EP52 earphones come in an excellent pack containing earphones, a cardboard case with various in-ear adapters, the micro usb cable and a silicone case for everyday transport with magnetic closure.
The headset is among those with the headband that rests on the neck, a bow in silicone very pleasant to the touch and very malleable with a magnetic connection on the back of the in-ear so that once you let it dangle they do not go too far around.
On the right side we find all the electronics needed to manage the headset: power button, volume controls, status LED, micro usb port for charging and microphone.
Once worn during music playback, you will hear all the sound quality of these earphones with deep bass quality hard to find in the earphones of the same range. Here, probably the adoption of Qualcomm CSR8645 chip expresses all its value by providing support also to aptX protocol.
IPX5 certified, they have a coating that protects them from water as from sweat: calling them waterproof is a bit ‘forcing’ but undoubtedly we can let them accompany us during our workouts as long as you don’t throw them in the water.
Compatible with bluetooth 4.1 that allows a fast and stable pairing, has a 130 mAh battery that provides between 7 and 8 hours of battery life or about 150 hours of standby time.
The built-in microphone does not allow you to interact with features such as Google Assistant, but it does offer good audio quality during phone calls: no one has ever complained to not hear me on the other side of the phone.
Enviable quality / price ratio
The Meizu EP52 have a cost that is around 40€/50$, but you will not struggle to find them at 21€/27$ as happened in my case, that I bought them on Gearbest.
This is really a great price: just looking at the level of materials and packaging should be positioned much higher, but fortunately it is not.
Wireless resting on the neck: are they comfortable?
For some time I have ignored the earphones of this type that on the one hand are wireless, but on the other they always have the presence of the cable albeit in a limited way.
After trying out a couple, however, I can say that it is a very convenient solution: our smartphone can be safely closed in the pocket of a jacket or elsewhere, and the headset even if it comes out of the ear we are almost certain that it will not be lost.
Moreover if we have to remove them from our ears for a moment, we can comfortably let them fall on our chest without having to be forced to hold them.
So yes, it is a decidedly comfortable solution that adapts to different areas of use from sports to moments of leisure when you do not want to give up some music or a podcast while remaining comfortable, or even driving.
